Description

PiroCoat I is a one-component fire-resistant graphite. Graphite reacts – increases its volume under the influence of temperature above 150°C. Suitable for application by trowel or brush. It can be diluted by adding up to 3% water. The PiroCoat I coating is rough when dry. Use mechanical instruments to measure thickness, e.g. calipers. PiroCoat I can be packaged in different containers, from 310 ml cartridge to 3kg. and 10 kg buckets. PiroCoat I can be overcoated with water-based paints to change the tone. Surfaces must be dust-free before application.

Designed for use in:

PiroCoat I is designed for the fire insulation and sealing and fire protection of walls and floors of insulated steel, copper and cast iron pipes without insulation or with PE foam (in combination with Piro Multitube PM). It can also be used to protect penetrations through walls and floors, on small diameter flammable pipes that are insulated. A coating made from this mass expands under high temperature fire conditions, creating a foamed refractory thermal insulation layer on the protected surface. PiroCoat I made of penetrations are classified as EI class.
