PiroCoat A coloured mineral wool board is a mineral wool board with a density of 150 kg/m3 and a thickness of 50 mm, coated with a 1,6 mm layer of PiroCoat A, an aqueous dispersion of synthetic resin and pigments. PiroCoat A is completely non-combustible.
PiroCoat A coloured mineral wool board is used for fire-resistant sealing of openings/penetrations in wall and floor constructions and for sealing of through communications. It is also used to fill expansion joints in walls and floors. In addition, it can be used as a fire-resistant protection for gypsum plasterboards or as a filler between them to increase the fire resistance of partition walls made of these boards. PiroCoat A coating on mineral wool board is characterised by very good endothermic properties, strongly cooling surfaces when heated by flame and blocking its propagation under fire conditions.
PiroCoat A’s main advantage of a painted mineral wool board fills in mixed penetrations and expansion joints and adds speed and ease of installation. The product is designed in accordance with ETA-17/1062 and ETA-15/0853.
