Description:
Hempafire Optima 500 is a very low VOC single component waterborne acrylic thin film expandable fire retardant coating for passive fire protection of structural steel against cellulose fires. It is optimised for on-site applications according to fire safety requirement R120.Depending on the project, applications in factories and/or according to fire safety requirement R180 may be possible.
Suggested uses:
Expansive fire protection for structural steel in contact with compressive environments up to C3 (ISO-12944). Suitable for I-sections, H-sections, closed sections and honeycomb beams. It can be used as a repair and finishing coat on damaged areas where Hempafire Optima 500 has been freshly applied.

– Conforms to the European Fire Safety Standard EN 13501-1. Sensitivity class:
– Assessed in accordance with BS 476-21, Structural Steel Resistance. Up to 180 minutes.

– Increased productivity due to high PPC per coat and faster drying, thus providing the necessary fire protection with fewer coats, lower application costs and faster application times.
– Tested and approved according to EN13381-8 for up to 120 minutes fire protection. It has ETA 3. a CE mark verified by a party. It has up to 180 minutes fire protection with ApplusFire certification under BS-476 assessment.
– One product for the most common profile types to reduce complexity in the application and design specification stages.
– The ease of application contributes to a smooth surface and excellent aesthetic results of the protected steel.
– A third-party certified product environment declaration (Type III EPD, according to ISO 14025, EN 15804) is available. The product can contribute to the assessment of LEED and BREEAM projects for product environmental declaration.
